This project is all about options! 8th grade students learned about several drawing techniques including hatching, cross hatching, stippling and scribbling. We discussed the origin of each technique and introduced several contemporary artists that utilize them. Students chose a size paper, a shading technique and an image to use for their portraits that will ultimately focus on scale, value, and contrast. We are very excited about our completed work!

8th grade artists learned about Wayne Theibaud's landscapes and aerial perspective. We discussed drone photography with a special guest to get a better understanding of this concept. Students then spent time exploring Google Earth, selected a place that they wanted to learn more about, and created paintings that expressed their own unique perspectives. |
