To recognize Bullying prevention Month, all art students will be discussing the the work of artist Frank Warren. The PostSecret Project is an ongoing community art project where people mail in their secrets on one side of a postcard. These highly personal and artfully decorated postcards are mailed anonymously from around the world, displaying the soulful secrets we never voice. Since November 2004, Warren has received more than 500,000 postcards, with secrets that run from confessions of secret beliefs, hidden acts of kindness, shocking habits and fears. PostSecret is a safe and anonymous "place" where people can hear unheard voices and share untold stories. Our classes looked at a select few submissions that discussed secrets about bullying. Students were then asked to create their own secret or 'truth' about their experience with or opinion on bullying from their perspective. Student submissions will be hung around the school to create a level of understanding. and provoke honest conversation about such a difficult topic.
