As November comes to a close, our art students are re-energized by the news of new technology coming to Rockingham Middle School! Students in sixth, seventh, and eighth grade were exposed to 3D printing technology, its practical uses in a variety of fields, and the endless possibilities it brings to our curriculum. Students were able to witness the 3D printer in action, understand how a 3D scanner functions, and experiment with the 3D modeling software. I would like to extend a huge thank you to Jeff Epps, the Richmond County Director of Informational Technology, recent RIchmond graduate Ben Dibble, and 3DSystems for making it all possible! We are so excited to see how these incredible tools will take our learning in the art room to the next level this year!
